If you are at least age 55 with a minimum of 20 years of full-time service at the time you separate employment from SEG, you may elect retiree medical coverage for yourself and your eligible dependents. Spouses with access to their own active or retiree employer-sponsored group medical coverage are not eligible for coverage under SEG’s plans. Eligible spouse and dependent(s) are those on record at the time of your retirement. Your coverage level can never increase after your retirement date due to a new spouse or dependent.
Planning for your retirement should begin now, regardless of your age. The future cost of retiree health care may be significant and could influence your decision about when to retire.
Keep in mind that you can directly impact your retirement health care expenses by taking care of yourself now and developing a healthy lifestyle.
The following information provides an overview of SEG’s retiree health care benefits. Plans available depend on the date of retirement and the retiree’s current age as of Jan. 1, 2017.
