Preventive care is medical care to help you
evaluate your health, detect and prevent conditions. Typically
SEG has dedicated BlueCross representatives
who can help you understand insurance coverage
and provider billing.
Preventive care can help protect you against
Having a relationship with a primary care physician who is
able to conduct recommended screenings and tests based on your
age, gender, family history and health status can help you identify
steps you can take to be healthy and help you recognize any
areas for concern.
Most preventive care through an in-network provider is covered
at 100% through SEG’s medical plan – which means that you do
not need to meet your deductible first.
Medical care that treats existing conditions or tests for chronic
conditions or evaluation of a symptom, is subject to your deductible
and coinsurance amounts.
Physicians must code your visit as preventive for
it to be paid at 100%, so be sure to take along the
Provider Coding Instructions
to your appointment.
