- Outage Reporting Text Messaging Usage Terms
Dominion Energy South Carolina, Inc. (“DESC”) Outage Reporting Text Messaging
- Dominion Energy South Carolina Outage Text Messaging is a standard rate SMS service which allows
customers to opt-in to report electric power outages and receive updates about the status of
electric power outages. Customers will see the Call to Action (CTA) via the Dominion Energy South
Carolina website, and other printed promotional materials
(DominionEnergySC.com/en/terms-and-conditions). CTA will instruct customers to register for the text
messaging service by texting REG [Account Number] [Nickname] (i.e. REG 0000000000000 HOME) to
(467234). Customers can enroll in the text messaging service via their online account by logging
into their account at DominionEnergySC.com.
- After registration, customers will be able to text OUT to (467234) to report an electric power
outage and/or text other commands (including NICK, STATUS, STOP, DEREG, INFO, OUT CANCEL, HELP,
etc.) to manage electric power outage text updates. This program is a standard rate service. Message
and data rates may apply. You will not receive any unsolicited messages through this short code.

- Mobile App Usage Terms
- The Dominion Energy South Carolina and Dominion Energy North Carolina (Gas) mobile app is available in the iOS App Store for your Apple device and the Google Play store for your Android device.
- With the mobile app, you can sign in to your online account from your mobile device using biometrics
(fingerprint id and facial recognition), view and pay your bill, report power outages (for SC customers), analyze usage and more. In
addition, if you choose to allow push notifications, the app will notify you of important details
about your account.
- Although there is no specific charge to receive push notifications on your mobile device, a small
amount of data is used. Message and data rates may apply according to your specific mobile service
plan or prepaid conditions.
- You may opt-out of receiving push notifications. Either select the option to ‘not allow’
on the notifications prompt the first time you open the app, or if notifications are already
enabled, disable them for the app through Settings on your mobile device.

Multi-Factor Authentication adds an extra security layer beyond the username and password
to confirm identity for online utility accounts. With two-factor authentication customers can access
their account on devices or browsers that are trusted. Upon signing in to a new device or browser for
the first time, the customer will need to provide their username, password, and a one time six-digit
temporary verification code. The customer is sent the verification code to the email address or text
phone number associated with their utility account. Once signed in, the customer will not be asked for a
verification code again unless the account has not been accessed in over 90 days, a different device
and/or browser is used to sign in to the account, or the customer opted not to trust the browser on
prior sign in(s).
